Geoinformation Center of the German Army

The Geoinformation Center of the German Army puts the required Geoinformation at the disposal of organizational units and armed services. The army, air force, navy, medical services and armed forces are consistently supplied with the most recent data such as for example weather reports, maps or bird strike forecasts.

Most of the 1,000 employees work at the headquarter at the military base Mercator in Euskirchen. The Training Center in Fürstenfeldbruck and ten more sites form part of the Geoinformation Center of the German Army. The academic training of the German Meteorological Service also takes place in Fürstenfeldbruck.
