Meteorological Technology World Expo 2015 Report

Bavaria goes Belgium: nowcast attended the Meteorological Technology World Expo 2015. We presented our latest products, technologies and solutions. Like last year, it was productive to get in touch with interested visitors and pleased clients: experts from meteorology, aviation, energy and many more industrial sectors concerned with weather were welcomed at our booth that we shared with GRAW. GRAW Radiosondes develops and manufactures GPS-based radiosondes and groundstations for meteorological and scientific purposes.

The Expo took place in Brussels from October 13th to 15th. It is the international exhibition and conference for more accurate and next-generation weather forecasting and climate-change measurement technologies and services.

On Wednesday 14th, Daniel Betz (Head of Products and Marketing) and Matthias Möhrlein (Head of Meteorology) held a lecture about “Recognition of hail producing thunderstorms using high resolution 3D lightning data”.

In total, more than 3,200 guests visited more than 165 exhibitors at the Expo. Next year, the Expo will take place in Madrid.
